Lone Star Park opened to the public on April 17, 1997. Tonight's opening card runs the night before the 29th anniversary of that first race day. Since opening, Lone Star has welcomed more than 15 million customers, handled over $3 billion in lifetime wagering, and hosted the 2004 Breeders' Cup — the only Texas track ever to do so.
